Jesse Lingard: Former Man United star closing in on shock new club

Former Manchester United striker Jesse Lingard is set to join a new club.

Manchester United career

The youth academy graduate made his debut in 2014, but did not become a regular for the team until the 2015-2016 season.

He scored the winning goal in the 2016 FA Cup final and scored in the 2017 League Cup final.

Lingard made 232 appearances for Manchester United and scored a total of 35 goals.

Career since leaving Manchester United

After spending a short but sweet loan period at West Ham United, Lingard left Manchester United in the summer of 2022.

He spent the 2022-2023 season at Nottingham Forest before moving to South Korea in early 2024.

Lingard spent two seasons at FC Seoul, scoring 19 goals in 67 games, before leaving at the end of his contract earlier this season.

The Carrington graduate has been linked with a return to England, Spain and even the Netherlands to work with Robin van Persie at Feyenoord.

However, another team has emerged targeting the England international, with Brazilian outlet Globo Deportivo reporting that Remo is interested in the player.

The website reported that “Remo is in talks to sign former Manchester United player Jesse Lingard. According to information obtained by GE, an agreement between Parra Club and the 33-year-old English player is under negotiation and progress is being made.”

The report added, “Discussions have been going on for weeks. In recent days, negotiations have progressed and the player is likely to sign a contract with the club for the remainder of the season.”

Remo currently sit 16th in the Brazilian league standings after three games, having failed to win in their first game of the season.
