In the latest batch of Epstein documents released, emails discovered by TMZ show Epstein asking about his “trumpet plants in the nursery.” While this reference may seem harmless, experts point out that the angel’s trumpet plant is highly toxic and produces a drug called scopolamine.
Scopolamine is notorious for its disturbing effects. Every scientific guidanceThe substance is known to impair memory and decision-making, and it has been reported that severe poisoning can even lead to paralysis and death. “In case of overdose, symptoms of poisoning can occur, such as dry mucous membranes, tachycardia, confusion and hallucinations,” the report said.
Of note, this drug is used pharmacologically, albeit rarely, to treat motion sickness and nausea. But perhaps most concerning, scopolamine reportedly did not appear in toxicology reports.
According to the released documents, Epstein also received an article detailing the effects of scopolamine and the plant it came from, suggesting he may have been aware of its properties.

Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Since then, the wave of court-ordered disclosures of documents has continued.
