The Tennessee Titans built a strong roster around two key pieces this offseason: Cam Ward and Jeffrey Simmons.
Simmons is the unquestioned defensive leader and arguably the best defensive tackle in the league. While it’s doubtful whether general manager Mike Borgonzi or head coach Robert Saleh would accept the offer, as John Kosko of Pro Football Focus (PFF) noted, Simmons is the Titans’ top trade chip.
Tennessee Titans: DI Jeffrey Simmons
The Titans are fully committed to rebuilding, making Simmons their most valuable trade asset. In 2025, his overall PFF grade was 89.6 and his PFF pass-rush grade (91.4) ranked first among interior defenders, highlighting his impact as a disruptor and run defender.
His consistent production and positional value will pay huge dividends. Trading Simmons could give Tennessee the money it needs to rebuild both defensive lines and better support quarterback Cam Ward.
Kosko’s sentiment echoes what some fans have said: The Titans could potentially acquire Simmons on the open market. But after hiring a defensive-minded head coach, it’s questionable whether Tennessee would give up on its only veteran star. If anything, as their free agency approach suggests, they’d rather build their defense around him and potentially give him an extension this offseason.
