Vice President JD Vance lashed out at Fox News polls in a lengthy sit-down interview with the anchor on Tuesday Martha McCallum It covers a range of topics, including the upcoming midterm elections.
After a commercial break, McCallum turned to the midterms, saying, “Well, Vice President J.D. Vance is back. So we just mentioned the midterms. I wanted to do a poll. This shows voting preferences in Congress. This is the end of January, so just a few weeks ago, among all voters: 52 preferences for the Democratic candidate and 46 for the Republican candidate. We still have a long way to go, but obviously the numbers don’t look good to most people.”
Vance responded: “That’s not good. What I’m saying is, as much as we love Fox News, we always thought Fox News had the worst polls.”
“The president and I agree on that. I’m sorry. It’s true,” Vance quipped, raising his hands.
McCallum responded: “I could show you other things that are very similar, but since they’re ours, I’ll show you ours.”
Vance responded in his speech during the midterm elections, “But, and this is the fundamental question of the midterms, and I think we’re going to make this argument to the American people — and the American people are obviously going to be the ones making this decision — look, if you go back to the Biden administration, the average American has lost about $3,000 in take-home pay over the four years that Democrats have been in power.” He concluded:
In Trump’s first year in office, per capita income in the United States was about $1,200. Now, there’s good news and there’s bad news. If you look at it from last year’s perspective, Americans did better. If you look at it from the perspective of the Biden administration, we’re still digging out of the hole that the Democrats got us into. I think the question we have to ask the American people is: Do you want to hand back the government to the people who, frankly, burned down the house and made most Americans less wealthy and less safe, or do you want to double down on the leadership of the president that helped us recover from some of the problems that Joe Biden created and then built a lot on those problems. it?
Trump has long attacked pollsters and polls whose results are unflattering to him, and has even sued some media outlets over their results.
