The Dallas Cowboys drafted Blue out of the University of Texas, and the fifth-round RB came to the NFL with the fastest speed in the world.

But Blue suffered some injuries during the preseason and is usually healthy when the regular season rolls around.

It turns out that maybe everyone was wrong about Blue.

Well, not everyone. Former Cowboys coach Glenn “Stretch” Smith said during the preseason that he heard Blue was “bordering on lazy.”

There have been no new reports to update this, but it could explain why the youngster was passed over so many times that Malik Davis didn’t even join the Cowboys at the beginning of the year.

A rough rookie season doesn’t spell doom for Blue, even though RB is one of the most fickle positions in the NFL today. The team hasn’t been shy about cutting draft picks after just one year.

Once the Cowboys are officially eliminated from the playoffs, maybe they’ll give Blue a chance to show what he can do in the long game. But maybe not, if he doesn’t do what’s expected of him outside of game days.

Of course, it’s not that anyone wants Blue to succeed, but sometimes players don’t have what it takes to make it in the pro ranks.
