iOS 26.2 Is Now Available

After more than a month of beta testing, Apple has finally released iOS 26.2 to all users. This update brings some tweaks and some major features to certain regions. For example, iOS 26’s real-time translation feature is finally coming to Europe. Apple previously delayed the feature due to Digital Markets Act issues, but now European users will be able to use real-time translation through AirPods.

Users can translate back and forth between English (US and UK), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain), Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). In addition, Japanese users will be able to replace Siri’s side button function with a third-party voice assistant such as Gemini or Alexa. The feature will be available in line with new legislation and other markets should not expect the same changes anytime soon. In addition to these fundamental changes, iOS 26.2 also brings the following.

iOS 26.2 brings important improvements to Liquid Glass. The improvements include new lock screen settings that give users more control over the appearance of the clock and the ability to make interactions more dynamic, similar to what the company previewed during its WWDC 2025 keynote. This new software update also introduces a one-time AirDrop code system that lets you share files with people who aren’t in your contacts, valid for up to 30 days.

Apple has also tweaked the sleep rating feature, with a “very low” rating now ranging from 0-40, compared to the previous range of 0-29. Plus, Apple now calls it “very high” rather than “excellent” for a good night’s sleep, and that’s only if you score 96-100. For Apple Music, users can now view lyrics offline, so they can be viewed in the app even without an internet connection.

Other features include disabling pinned messages in CarPlay, sorting games by size in the app library, new enhanced safety alerts, and the ability to find specific moments in podcast episodes more easily since the Podcasts app can automatically create chapters. In addition to iOS 26.2, Apple also released iPadOS 26.2, macOS Tahoe 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and VisionOS 26.2.
