“Wonder why Sheriff Nanos keeps rejecting proven civilian search experts like EquuSearch and Real Cajun Navy?” she wrote, referring to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) and the lead investigator, the Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanosrejected the search plan of the Cajun Navy and other organizations, and continued to search for Nancy.
Coffindaffer continued: “LE [law enforcement] Arrest is imminent and they know what happened to Nancy so they don’t want to waste these groups’ precious resources? But why doesn’t the Sheriff at least recognize these groups? The glass is half full. Hope LE is getting closer. “

In the March 4 episode Brian Entin InvestigatesNewsNation Journalists and Investigative Reporters Brian Entin A detailed 41-page search plan from the Cajun Combined Navy was shared. These include “thermal drone operations, HRD land and water dog teams, tracking, tracking and scent-specific dogs, ground search volunteers,” he explained.
Additionally, the proposed plan calls for the operation to be conducted under the leadership of the PCSD. However, the department released a statement on X on February 21 about the private search teams.

“Private Search Team: Volunteer search teams have been asked to be in the area. According to the Sheriff, they have been asked to provide investigators with the space they need to conduct their work,” the PCSD update reads. “We appreciate their concern and we all want to find Nancy, but this job is best left to the professionals. If PCSD wishes to become involved with the department, they have volunteer opportunities. Private property laws apply and every property owner has the right to grant someone a warrant to search their property.”
As of this writing, Nancy is still missing. She was last seen on January 31 at her Catalina Foothills residence, and PCSD officially launched a search on February 1.
