Inter determined to wrap up deal for Man City loanee Akanji

Inter Milan have made a decision on Manuel Akanji and are set to sign the defender permanently at the end of the season.

The Swiss defender has impressed since arriving on loan from Manchester City and has quickly established himself as a reliable option in Inter Milan’s defence.

Inter’s confidence in Akanji proves the Nerazzurri are ready to stay permanently

His consistency, versatility and tactical understanding convinced the Nerazzurri hierarchy to consider him part of their long-term defensive plans.

According to Fabrizio Romano via FCInter1908, the Serie A team is fully interested in activating the purchase clause included in the agreement with Manchester City. The purchase option is set at €15 million and will be exercised after the end of the current campaign in June.

There is no doubt within the San Siro that the club considers the deal simple and has decided on it. Akanji is expected to remain at Milan beyond the end of the summer, converting his loan spell into a permanent move without any complications.

For the Nerazzurri, the deal represents stable business, acquiring an experienced international defender at a manageable cost, while Akanji will continue his career in Serie A after successfully adapting to Italian football.
