Instagram has launched a much-needed “Recently Deleted” feature that lets you view and recover deleted posts within the app. The company says it’s also added protections to help prevent hackers from compromising your account and deleting posts you’ve shared. The feature is rolling out to Android phones and iPhones in phases, so it may not be available to everyone.
Until now, there was no way to recover deleted Instagram posts, but now you can easily permanently delete or recover content from the Recently Deleted folder. All photos, videos, movies, IGTV videos, and stories you choose to delete from your feed will now be moved to the Recently Deleted folder so you can access your deleted content later. Something to note here is that deleted Instagram Stories that are not in your archive will remain in the folder for up to 24 hours, and everything else will be automatically deleted after 30 days.
