How to Use Facebook Messenger Without a Facebook Account

Facebook feeds often lead to information overload. Sometimes, you might feel like you have enough posts on Facebook, but you still can’t stop yourself from checking the social networking site multiple times a day. Maybe you’re considering quitting Facebook entirely.

Then you think you want to stay connected with some people who are not on any other platform. If you’re wondering if you can delete your Facebook account and still stay connected with your friends through Facebook Messenger, the answer is yes. Please follow the steps below to do this:

  1. Open Facebook’s deactivated account page.
  2. Ignore the photos of people who may miss you and scroll to the bottom.
  3. The last option means you can continue using Facebook Messenger even if you deactivate your account. Make sure this is Not checked And leave it as is.
  4. Scroll down and click deactivate.

Your Facebook account will now be deactivated. All your Facebook data will be safe until you’re ready to log in again.

Open Facebook Messenger on your smartphone or log in through the website on your PC. Your old Facebook credentials will still work here. You’ll find that you can continue chatting with all your friends.

This way you can get rid of Facebook without losing any data and continue to stay connected with your friends.

If you have deactivated your account and use Messenger, your Facebook account will not be reactivated. Your friends can only contact you through the Messenger app or a chat window in Facebook.

If you don’t have a Facebook account yet and just want to use Messenger, follow the steps below.

  1. Download Facebook Messenger on iOS, Android or Windows Phone.
