How to Edit WhatsApp Text Messages on iOS and Android

WhatsApp has started rolling out the ability to edit sent messages on Android and iOS. The Meta-owned messaging service started beta testing of its mobile app and WhatsApp Web features in early May and recently announced that the feature is now available for iOS and Android users. The new feature works similarly to sending messages through Apple’s Messages app, and users will have a brief window during which they can edit sent messages on WhatsApp.

Text messages sent on WhatsApp can be edited multiple times, but the service sets a 15-minute time limit. You can only edit messages sent from your account within the time limit, and your recipients need to be running the latest version of WhatsApp. Currently, editing messages from the WhatsApp Web and desktop apps is not supported in the stable versions of these apps.

In order to use the new edit message feature of WhatsApp, you must update to the latest version from the App Store and Google Play Store. If you are a premium user, you can also download the latest APK file and sideload it to your Android phone.
