You can do this via iCloud or iTunes, but we recommend you do it via iTunes as it doesn’t require an internet connection. Here are the steps to back up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch:
1) Connect your iOS device to PC or Mac.
2) Open iTunes.
3) In the upper left corner (in my music), click the icon that represents your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch icon).
4) down backupyou will see the subtitle Manual backup and restore.
5) Click Back up now Start backing up your iOS device.
After backing up important data in default apps, iTunes will ask you if you want to transfer your purchases. This will back up all the apps installed on your phone as well as the data downloaded from those apps. To do this, you must log in with your Apple ID.
If you don’t have access to your computer, you can use iCloud backup. Only 5GB is free and you need to pay Rs. $60 per month for additional storage on iCloud.
1) To start the backup, go to Settings > iCloud > Backup.
2) Turn on the marked switch iCloud backup. You’ll get a warning telling you that your iPhone won’t automatically back up to your computer. tap OK.
3) After iCloud backup is turned on, click Back up now. This will start backing up your data to iCloud.
Wait for the backup to complete before continuing. Once the backup is complete, you should see the last backup time (which should appear just below Backup Now) corresponding to the most recent time.
Download and install iOS 9
After the backup is complete, you can quickly install iOS 9 on your Apple device. Again, you can do this directly from your iOS device or iTunes. In this case we recommend doing this via the device itself. The iOS 9 update is a large download, but requires less free space on the device than iOS 8, so installing iOS 9 is unlikely to present the same hassles as last year. Here’s how to get iOS 9 updates over-the-air (OYA)
1) On your iOS device, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi (updates cannot be downloaded over mobile data) and plug it into a power source – this second step is not mandatory, but recommended to ensure you don’t drain the battery in the process.
2) Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
3) On this screen, you will see a message telling you that iOS 9 is available. tap Download and install. The device will now start downloading the update.
4) Once the download is complete, you will see a pop-up window asking if you want to install the update. tap Install. That’s it. After the update is installed, your iPhone will restart.
