The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are finally here, and we’re starting to see some pretty good deals online. We’re interested in these deals and we’ve spoken to a lot of people, but one concern raised by most people is whether the phones are being sold legally and come with a warranty.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind, starting with double-checking whether the seller has a return policy. You should also check that the iPhone listing has the correct product model number and indicates that the iPhone is new and has either a manufacturer’s warranty or a dealer warranty – you’ll want the former. This way, if any issues arise, you can safely return your iPhone to Apple without any hassle.
To check if your iPhone is under warranty, you first need to find your iPhone’s serial number. It should be listed on the iPhone box. If you don’t have the original packaging, you can follow these steps:
1. Turn on your iPhone.
2. Go to Settings > General > About
Scroll down to check the serial number and copy it down.
3. Go to the Apple website, enter your iPhone’s serial number in the text box, and click Continue.
Your iPhone’s warranty status and eligibility for extended warranty coverage are displayed. There are three headings: Date of Purchase, Telephone Technical Support, and Repair and Service Coverage.
If you purchased new iPhones, all 3 iPhones should have a green checkmark next to them. If not, the iPhone’s warranty has expired or is invalid in the first place, and you should return the iPhone.
If it’s not a new phone, you should at least see a green checkmark next to the “Repair and Service Coverage” heading, which indicates that Apple will honor your request for repair and service of your iPhone.
