Departing from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) on Tuesday, March 10?
Travelers once again faced lengthy wait times at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at some U.S. airports on Monday, including an average of three hours at Houston’s Hobby Airport. Staffing issues at the Transportation Security Administration have led to longer wait times amid the ongoing partial government shutdown and a surge in spring break travel.
Impacts to Florida airports, including RSW, remain minimal. However, RSW officials urged travelers to arrive early.
A post on the RSW Facebook page reads: “Due to busy tourist season in Southwest Florida, lines can be long at certain times of the day. Please line up at security at least two hours in advance for domestic flights and three hours in advance for international flights. Line times vary by lobby and time of day.”
