Hoffenheim set to offload exiled striker Mërgim Berisha to 1. FC Kaiserslautern absent transfer fee

Florian Plettenberg Exiled Hoffenheim striker Meljim Berisha is reportedly set to move to Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern on transfer deadline day. The Red Devils of Palatinate will acquire the former Germany international without paying a transfer fee to Hoffenheim. Instead, Hoffenheim have been offered a resale clause if Berisha can revive his career.

Hoffenheim have been trying to get rid of Berisha for some time.

Berisha has been a thorn in the side of TSG management for over a year. The 27-year-old reportedly turned down a deal with Hertha Berlin because he did not want to take a pay cut. Hoffenheim relegated Berisha to the reserves this season and he has not even made an appearance there.

Kaiserslautern desperately need a striker

Ultimately, all parties seemed eager to reach a deal. Lauten have been hit hard this weekend by the injury to leading goalscorer Ivan Peltan. Berisha’s current Bundesliga side would also have no problem selling their unused forwards for free.
