The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that the Hamas terrorists who killed Corporal Noah Marciano, a surveillance soldier imprisoned in Gaza, have been eliminated.
Hamas reportedly carried out a nighttime attack that injured IDF soldiers in northern Gaza, violating the ceasefire agreement.
The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that Habil, the commander of Hamas’ main organization, was killed in an airstrike at the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.
The IDF confirmed: “In response to last night’s flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement, earlier today (Wednesday) the IDF and the Israel Security Agency struck and neutralized the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization, Mohammad Issam Hassan Habil.”

The IDF soldier was abducted from the Nahal Oz outpost during the terrorist group’s October 7 massacre.
On November 9, 2023, she was injured in an IDF airstrike while held by Hamas and was subsequently taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. At the time, Hamas claimed Marciano was killed in an Israeli airstrike.
Her body was eventually found by Israeli forces in November 2023 and returned to Israel for burial in Modi’in, where she lived with her family.
After Habil’s death was announced, Marciano’s mother, Adi Marciano, said the family had been promised that all those involved in her daughter’s murder would be brought to justice, the Times of Israel reported.
“It’s no real comfort,” she said. “But we know justice has been served, even if only partially. Nothing will bring Noah back to us.”

Noa Marciano, 19, was abducted from the Nahar Oz outpost during the October 7 massacre and later murdered in Shifa hospital.
“This elimination brings closure to the Marciano family, the IDF and the Israel Security Agency,” the IDF said.
“The IDF and the Israel Security Agency will continue to fight against any terrorists involved in the brutal massacre on October 7, as well as any attempts by terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip to launch terrorist attacks against the IDF and Israeli civilians.”
Israeli forces have been responding to a number of security incidents overnight, including an attack on the Israel Defense Forces following the killing of Habil.
At around 1 a.m., terrorists opened fire on the Israel Defense Forces in the Daraj Tuffah area, seriously injuring a reserve officer.

IDF troops returned fire and conducted additional strikes in the area to neutralize the threat.
During the attack, the suspect was spotted close to the Yellow Line south of Khan Younis and was considered a threat to the troops. The suspect was then attacked, the Israel Defense Forces said.
In addition to Habil, the victims included Bilal Abu Assi, the Hamas Nokhba platoon leader who led the October 7 massacre at Kibbutz Nir Oz.
