Supergiant Games’ roguelike action game “Hades 2” has exited Early Access and will release version 1.0 on September 25. Since full launch, the game has surpassed 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. Hades 2 is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 after being in early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store for more than a year.
According to the SteamDB chart, since the release of “Hades 2”, the number of simultaneous online players on Steam has reached an all-time high of 112,947. As of this writing, over 43,000 players have participated in the game.
The game also performs well on Nintendo platforms. “Hades 2” has replaced “Hollow Knight: Silk Song” on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 game digital best-selling list. The newly launched game is a timed console exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

“Hades 2” also received widespread praise. On Metacritic, it became the highest-rated new game of 2025 with a score of 94. It is also one of the highest-rated games on OpenCritic, with a score of 92, tied with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
On Steam, more than 40,000 players have reviewed Hades 2 as “overwhelmingly positive”.
The game launched in Early Access on PC in May 2024 and doubled the all-time high number of concurrent players of its predecessor, Hades, within hours.
The game’s version 1.0 update includes the true ending of the story, new events for the game’s characters, new music, new destiny list prophecies, new late-game unlocks, and more. The Steam version of the game now also features achievements.
“Hades 2” is the sequel to 2020’s “Hades” and tells the journey of the immortal hell princess Merlino, the sister of the first game’s protagonist Zagreus. Players will take on the role of Melinoe, battling the time titan Cronos, and crawling through the ever-changing underworld dungeons in multiple levels.
