GTA 6 Characters Guide: Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos and Everyone Else You Need to Know About

Despite numerous delays to date, expectations for Grand Theft Auto VI (better known as GTA 6) are still high. Previously, developer and publisher Rockstar Games had set a release schedule of November 2026. However, the company has now announced another delay. But so far, the company has given fans two gameplay trailers. The first trailer focused on the two main characters, Jason Duvall and Lucia Caminos, but the second trailer showcases the broader cast that will appear throughout the storyline. Let’s take a look at everything we know so far.

GTA 6 Character Guide

This guide is primarily based on what the public knows about the characters from the two trailers. It’s always possible there’s more to these characters that Rockstar is hiding from fans, but there’s no way of knowing until another trailer arrives or the developer releases a third trailer. Some information also comes from IGN reports.

Jason Duvall

Jason Duval is one of GTA 6’s two playable protagonists, and seems to be the more down-to-earth half of the pair. From what Rockstar has shown so far, Jason is a former soldier or someone with military training who fell into crime after struggling to find stability. He is portrayed as physically strong, reserved and pragmatic, often acting as a planner rather than a demagogue.

Jason’s character fits the classic rock star mold: a man trying to escape his past but keeps spiraling into violence. His dynamic with Lucia shows him as both a partner in crime and an emotional anchor, often questioning their decisions even when he agrees with them. From a gameplay perspective, Jason is expected to be able to handle heavier weapons and tactical situations.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia Caminos is GTA 6’s other playable protagonist and the series’ first female protagonist in the modern era. Rockstar has made it clear that Lucia is not a supporting character or novelty, but half the story. According to reports, she is a recently released prison inmate determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Lucia comes across as sharper, more impulsive, and more ambitious than Jason. Her willingness to take risks and push boundaries often drives the story forward. Her motivations appear to be rooted in survival and control rather than chaos, making her one of the more emotionally complex characters Rockstar has created. The pairing of Jason and Lucia is clearly inspired by criminal duos like Bonnie and Clyde, but framed through a modern, socially conscious lens.

Brian Hurd

In the trailer, Brian Heder plays Jason’s landlord, but that’s not the case. He is widely believed to be an experienced criminal with deep roots in Vice City’s underworld. He is described as someone who understands large-scale criminal operations, from logistics to political connections. Brian’s character appears to be a facilitator, connecting Jason and Lucia to greater opportunities while also pulling them into dangerous territory.

Raul Batista

Raul Bautista is portrayed as a confident, dazzling figure who loves to perform. He appears to have been involved in high-profile robberies and large-scale crimes. In terms of character dynamics, Raul seems to be the perfect chaotic yang to Jason and Lucia’s restrained and calculating yin.

booby ike

Boobie Ike is closely associated with the street culture and nightlife of Vice City. He is portrayed as a businessman with criminal connections who may have run clubs, real estate or other cash-heavy businesses. With real Kingpin and Lex Luthor-like vibes, he could be the ultimate force for Jason and Lucia to deal with in the storyline.

Pastor Dreisen

Dre’Quan Priest seems closely connected to Leonida’s music scene and youth culture. Dre’Quan is not a traditional gangster by any means, and he brings ambition and high-stakes schemes to the game. According to IGN, his main motivation in the story appears to be a partnership with Boobie Ike.

Carl Hampton

Although Carl Hampton appears briefly in the trailer, he appears to be Jason’s drinking buddy and possibly a close friend. IGN says the character’s main traits are “casual paranoia” and an obsession with conspiracy theories, which will definitely bring a satirical comedic element to the story.

This covers every named character in GTA 6 that we know about. However, in the trailer, multiple other characters appear who are either briefly shown or unnamed. From the cops and gangsters that Jason and Lucia have to deal with, to the various store owners, influencers and other colorful characters that make up Leonidas’ population. We can only hope to learn more about them soon.
