Losing a loved one or another cherished relationship is often overwhelming, and we find ourselves needing companionship in order to face our grief and move on.
Recognizing this need, First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge will offer a grief support group for those who have suffered a recent or long-term loss on Thursday, January 29 through March 19, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 203. The group provides a safe, confidential environment where participants can better understand and express their grief. Brief weekly reading assignments will guide group discussions, according to the release.
Co-hosts include Gielda Reese, a retired school teacher, who lost her 14-year-old daughter to cancer, and Bob Cantrell, a retired pastor.
