KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Login Grier and Desiree Wooten both scored 10 points as No. 6 seed Colorado defeated No. 11 seed Kansas 55-48 Thursday night to advance to the Big 12 Conference tournament quarterfinals.
Grier went 4-for-7 from the field and made both of Buffalo’s 3-point attempts (21-10). She had six rebounds and four blocks. Wooten added four assists.

Colorado got into foul trouble early on, committing seven in the first quarter. A 9-0 run in the second quarter opened things up for the Buffaloes, who entered halftime with a 26-18 lead. Their defense held Kansas to 36% shooting (19 points on 53) and 15% (2 points on 13 shooting) from three-point range.
Kansas (19-13) was led by S’Mya Nichols with 14 points. She and Sania Copeland made the only 3-pointers for the Jayhawks.
