Newcastle United will be looking to pick up a win away from home when they face Qarabag in the Champions League this Wednesday evening. The Magpies recently won 3-1 away from Aston Villa, so they will be keen to continue their good form in midweek.

Eddie Howe will line up his side in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI for this game. Anthony Gordon, Joe Willock and Anthony Elanga are all available from the start of this game.

defense

Nick Pope will feature against the Magpies after conceding a goal in the previous game. Malik Thiaw will join Dan Byrne at the heart of Newcastle’s backline as they look to keep their backline solid throughout the game.

Kieran Trippier will be looking to prove his worth as a right-back, while Lewis Hall will look to attract attention at left-back. Both of them wanted to press on and express themselves in the Qarabagh half.

Alex Murphy will provide cover for the defensive position off the bench.

midfield

Jacob Ramsey, Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock will form Howe’s midfield. This talented trio will have to move the ball well if they are to create enough clear-cut chances for the Magpies to win this game.

William Osula will have to take a spot on the bench and could come on in the final quarter to impact the game if needed.

attack

Anthony Gordon looks to excel on the left wing, while Anthony Elanga looks to impress as a wide player on the right. Both will try to get into the opponent’s backline whenever they get the chance.

Nick Woltemade will lead the Tyneside club’s charge in the final third. He has to find a way to become a real threat at the top.

Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy must be content to sit on the bench and wait for their chance to make an impact over the next 45 minutes, if required.
