Arne Slott spoke to UEFA after Liverpool’s defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League: “There are a lot of similarities between three months ago and now.
“We had multiple chances to score. After 10-15 minutes you hope we’re ahead and then their first attack resulted in a set-piece. Last time it was a penalty. And we had another goal disallowed, so there are a lot of similarities.”

Second leg: “The two sides played two games and now it’s half-time and they’re 1-0 up. We can do better, I’m 100 percent sure of that. But even though we just played the game, we had enough chances to score.
“We don’t have that but we play at Anfield next week and our fans will be very supportive of us. I think that’s what Galatasaray was like today. They had great support from their fans and it was difficult for us to play.
“Hopefully we can create the same atmosphere at Anfield next week.”
Former Reds defender Stephen Warnock was interviewed live on BBC Radio 5: “Galatasaray are street smart. They made Liverpool very uncomfortable tonight.

“You never know who is going to play for Liverpool tonight but Slaughter will be disappointed.
“It’s always difficult for Liverpool. I would have liked them to be more organized and pragmatic, but they didn’t do that at all.
“Galatasaray looks relatively comfortable.”
