fox lake wisconsin – Firefighters faced a dire situation early Sunday, February 8, when flames tore through multiple structures in the Town of Fox Lake, destroying three homes and sending two people to the hospital, the Fox Lake Fire Department said.

At 2:41 a.m., Fox Lake crews were dispatched to a structure fire on Howard Drive along with the Randolph Fire Department and other automatic aid partners. En route, firefighters spotted visible flames and escalated the call to work to provide additional assistance.

When crews arrived, the original building was completely destroyed and the fire had spread to neighboring homes to the north and south. Firefighters quickly went into exposure protection while battling flames in four different structures.
Due to the scope of the incident, the commander issued a second alert. Mutual aid units assisted with suppression and repairs, and an elevated main flow provided by the Maxan Fire Department helped stop the spread of the fire.
Crews remained on scene for about 10 hours.

A firefighter and a resident suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital and have since been released.
