One of the Washington Huskies’ top commitments in the 2027 class has taken an official visit to Montlake.
Four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney, a product of Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz., ranked as the No. 40 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 6 player in the state by 247Sports, will take an official visit on May 29. The 6-foot, 175-pound pass catcher selected the Huskies in late January over 29 other offers, coming out of a final five that also included Arizona State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and USC, and now Jed Fish’s coaching staff will rely on him as a fellow recruiter.

On his trip, he will be flanked by one of Washington’s top targets, four-star safety Gavin Williams, and three-star edge rusher Jag Ioane, as well as two other players: four-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju and three-star defensive lineman Matamataji Uiagalelei.
As the Huskies continue their search for a quarterback in the 2027 class, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sidney’s high school teammate, four-star prospect Blake Roskopf, who joined him on an unofficial visit to Seattle on Junior Day, also takes an official visit that weekend.
At the next level, Sidney, who was limited by injuries his junior season, looks to be a perfect fit at the position in Fish’s offense thanks to his versatility and crisp route running.

“Skilled receiver with a well-rounded game who should have some inside-outside versatility with his pace and hands,” 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins wrote in his review. “Creates separation with a quick release and pops open at the intermediate level with smooth route running and sudden movement…Not the biggest or strongest target, but attacks the football with impressive body posture and will absorb contact in traffic…Hungry after the catch and has a good understanding of downs, distance and timing when working the sideline and looking to move the stick.”
Sidney and four-star Braylon Pope provide strong support for position coach Kevin Cummings as the Huskies continue their efforts to add four-star wide receivers Osani Gales and Trey Moore to round out their class, as Washington currently ranks fourth nationally according to 247Sports rankings.
