Playground Games’ critically acclaimed open-world racing game Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PS5 on April 29, the developer announced Thursday. The Microsoft first-party game, which launched as an Xbox and PC exclusive in 2021, is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store. Players who pre-order the premium version of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 can get early access to the game starting on April 25.

The confirmation of the PS5 release date comes nearly a month after Forza Horizon 5 was announced as the next Xbox exclusive game to hit Sony’s console. All PS5 owners who pre-order the game will receive a special bundle that includes Forza Horizon 5’s cover car, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG ONE, 5,000 #Forzathon Points that can be used to purchase cars and cosmetics in the game, and five Backstage Passes that unlock any hard-to-find car in the Backstage Store.
On PS5, Forza Horizon 5 will offer two graphics modes – Performance (60fps) and Quality (30fps). For PS5 Pro users, Performance Mode will feature higher visual fidelity. Quality mode, on the other hand, will add ray-traced car reflections for racing and free roaming.
Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 comes in standard, deluxe and premium editions. The standard version is priced at Rs. 3,999; the Deluxe Edition includes Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass and is priced at Rs. 5,399; Premium version includes Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure DLC, car pass, welcome pack, VIP membership and early access starting April 25 and is priced at Rs. 6,599.
In addition to Forza Horizon 5 launching on PS5, Playground Games also announced that the Horizon Realms update will be coming to all supported platforms on April 25. Horizon Realms is being hailed as one of the biggest updates to the game to date and will include four new bonus cars and a new stadium track.
Forza Horizon 5 was announced for PS5 in January, with Playground Games setting a spring 2025 release schedule. Since Microsoft shifted to a multi-platform strategy last year, it has launched a series of first-party games that have arrived on PS5.
Forza Horizon 5 releases on November 9, 2021 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. The racing game, set in a vast open world set in Mexico, was a critical and commercial success, winning three categories at the 2021 Game Awards.
