A familiar name found itself a new home.

Holcomb began his career coaching linebackers at Carolina in 2013. He left after the 2017 season to follow Steve Wilkes as defensive coordinator with the Arizona Cardinals.
After a one-year layoff with the Cleveland Browns in 2019, Holcomb returned to the Panthers in 2020 as the Panthers’ defensive run coordinator. In 2022, he was promoted to assistant defensive head coach and later took over as interim defensive coordinator after Wilkes replaced former head coach Matt Rhule.
The Buffalo Bills will hire Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant in 2023. He will remain as their linebackers coach in 2024 and 2025.
