The former Georgia Bulldog transfer is once again on the open market amid major controversy. On3’s Pete Nakos says edge rusher Damon Wilson II, who played for the Georgia and Missouri Tigers, is expected to enter the transfer portal again. He will spend the final year of his career with his third team.
Wilson II joined Georgia in 2023 as a five-star edge rusher recruit. At Georgia, Wilson II gave the Bulldogs a taste of the player he would eventually become. In two seasons in Athens, he made 26 tackles, six for a loss, and had 3 1/2 sacks. He should show he can develop into an elite pass rusher.

Unfortunately, that’s not happening in Georgia. On January 14, 2025, Wilson II transferred to Missouri State, and he finally broke out. He totaled 23 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He ranked third in the SEC in sacks and was named to the SEC All-SEC Second Team. At one point, he was under more pressure than the entire Bulldogs pass rush.
Unfortunately, Wilson II’s stellar season was marred by controversy. He is being sued by the Georgia Bulldogs for $390,000, arguing that he violated his name, image and likeness (NIL) contract with them by transferring after signing the deal. In response, Wilson filed a countersuit against the state of Georgia. Now, he’s expected to transfer to a new school again.
Ohio State immediately became a destination for Wilson II, with the Buckeyes targeting him in 2024 after he transferred from Georgia. Wherever he goes, Wilson II is one of many talented players to transfer from Georgia. Cornerback AJ Harris, a 2023 All-Big Ten third-team selection at Penn State, transferred, while quarterback Carson Beck of the College Football Playoff semifinal Miami Hurricanes is Georgia’s starting quarterback in 2023-24.
