Former Auburn Tigers defensive lineman Keldrick Faulk recently had high praise for new Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Amaris Williams.

Williams is widely regarded as one of the best defensive linemen in the transfer portal this offseason. Faulk and Williams are teammates at Auburn, as each player is elite on the 2025 Bengals defense. Williams, who totaled 14 tackles and two sacks last season, will likely start to shine as he plays an increasingly important role in Athens as the newest member of the Dawgs defensive line.

Williams ranks as the No. 4 edge rusher and No. 36 overall player in the transfer portal, according to the 247Sports Transfer rankings. Faulk spoke highly of Williams, with the former Auburn star citing his elite athleticism and true NFL potential. At 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, Williams is a very promising playmaker who will soon start to make a big impact on the Dawgs defense in his first season.

“Amaris (Williams) is probably one of the weirdest athletes I’ve ever seen in my life,” Faulk said. “He’s got athleticism and once he puts it all together, he’s going to be one of the guys you’re going to talk about next (at the NFL combine).”

In addition to Williams, Georgia has brought in multiple playmakers from the transfer portal, but none will have a bigger impact in 2026 than the former Auburn Tiger. Williams excels in rushing attacks and his speed will wreak havoc on opposing offenses.
