Choice Sunday is finally here! On Sunday, brackets for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and the NCAA women’s basketball tournament will be announced. While the USC men’s team will miss the tournament for the third consecutive year, the Trojan women appear to be well-positioned to compete in March Madness for the fourth consecutive year.
So what can we see from USC in Sunday’s selection? ESPN updated the bracket for the women’s tournament on Saturday night. Currently, they have the Trojans as the No. 9 seed in Division II Fort Worth.

In this draw, the University of Southern California will face No. 8 seed Villanova University in the first round. A win would likely put the Trojans in the second round against No. 1 seed Texas.
ESPN also listed USC as one of the tournament’s “final four byes.” That means the Trojan women’s soccer team will narrowly avoid making the Final Four so far. Just a few weeks ago, the idea that USC was even in such danger would have been out of the question, but the Trojans are doing themselves no favors by dropping their final four games of the year.
The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced Sunday at 5:00 pm PT on ESPN. Then we’ll find out what USC’s postseason looks like.
