FBC: Firebreak , Remedy Entertainment’s new co-op shooter, has surpassed 1 million players, the company announced Thursday. The game launches on June 17 and is available on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. While members of both subscription services likely make up the bulk of the game’s player base, Remedy called the milestone “significant” and expressed his gratitude to FBC: Firebreak players.
FBC: Firebreak player count exceeds 1 million
On Thursday, Remedy announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that their latest game has surpassed 1 million players and said it will continue to support the game.
“As of last night, FBC: Firebreak has surpassed 1 million players. This is a major milestone, so thank you to everyone at Remedy for participating,” the studio said.
“We know we have a lot of work to do, and we’re very motivated about it. We have a lot of exciting stuff in store for Firebreak players! More information coming soon.”

The post suggests that Remedy plans to add more content to the online shooter in the future.
FBC: Firebreak is a three-player cooperative shooter set in the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) headquarters from Remedy’s 2019 action-adventure game Control. The game is already available on Game Pass and PS Plus Game Catalog, which members can access for free. These two services likely contributed significantly to FBC: Firebreak’s player base. On Steam, the game has an all-time high of 1,992 concurrent players.
On Friday, Remedy announced that it is working on patch 1.3 for FBC: Firebreak, which will be released next week, and that development on the next patch is already underway, with the goal of releasing it later in July. The studio confirmed that version 1.3 will update the welfare economy in the game to make player progress smoother.
This cooperative game puts players in the role of Firebreak agents, the FBC’s first response team tasked with containing supernatural threats within the Oldest House. FBC: Firebreak offers the ability to compete in PvE matches online with other players.
