Fast-growing Texas burger chain eyes opening of newest San Antonio spot

A former Pei Wei’s Asian Kitchen in Alamo City has been laying the groundwork for the Austin burger chain’s expansion in San Antonio, which will bring the number of Alamo City locations to three.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar has announced that its newest San Antonio restaurant will open soon at The Strand retail center on Huebner Road. A press release sent to MySA revealed that clients expect the location to be ready by mid-February, with an official opening date to be announced at a later date.

“San Antonio remains an important part of our growth in Texas, and we’re excited to bring another better burger space to the area where guests can enjoy the creativity and hospitality that defines our brand,” Hopdoddy CEO Jeff Chandler said in the release.

Since its founding in 2010, Hopdoddy Burger Bar has spread its signature burger creations and alcoholic beverages throughout Austin, other Texas cities, and eventually other states, including Arizona. California, Colorado, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana, the release said. The chain currently has 47 stores, with more under construction, including a new one in San Antonio.

“Continuing to grow in the San Antonio area is an exciting next step for Hopdoddy,” Chandler said.

MySA will continue to provide the latest information on the new Hopdoddy as the restaurant approaches its opening.
