Fantasy Football Video: Hiring of Kevin Stefanski could boost Bijan Robinson into ‘ultra-elite tier’

The Atlanta Falcons missed the 2025 NFL playoffs, extending their streak of missing the playoffs to eight consecutive seasons. As a result, head coach Raheem Morris was ousted and former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was named to replace him.

With Stefanski in place and a new offensive coordinator in Tommy Reese, Atlanta’s offense should look different in 2026. Matt Harmon and Nate Theis discuss the hire and what it means for top offensive weapon RB Bijan Robinson on the latest episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Predictions Podcast.

Despite being fired by the Browns, Theis believes Stefanski would be a pretty good hire for the Falcons. A two-time AP Coach of the Year winner, Stefanski led Cleveland to the playoffs twice in six seasons. Theis wants to see how the quarterbacks fare this offseason, with Kirk Cousins likely to be gone and Michael Penix Jr. set to suffer another major injury. But this hire seems solid for Robinson.

The RB is a consensus top-three player in the 2025 fantasy football draft and has been excellent for a head coach, ranking RB3 in points per game (20.3). He finished with nearly 1,500 yards rushing and seven rushing touchdowns, along with 79 catches for 820 yards and four more scores. He had double-digit touches in every game last season, and Theis believes Stefanski will provide Bijan with the ball enough in 2026.

Harmon believes the shift from a zone-heavy running game under Zac Robinson to instead mixing in more double-teaming and man-gap based concepts could be beneficial for the offense under Robinson and Stefanski. Harmon thinks Robinson can make the leap into the true elite of fantasy performers in 2026 under this new regime, which would be pretty remarkable considering how well he performed last season.

Yahoo analyst Justin Boone ranks Robinson as the RB1 overall in 2026 fantasy football. Boone also ranks No. 1 in his top 150 overall early next season.
