Fans turn on beloved 1990s sitcom star after his high praise for Trump

Shockingly, a beloved sitcom star has high praise for President Donald Trump.

Kelsey Grammer, the iconic star of “Funny” and “Cheers,” praised Trump in an interview with Fox News ahead of Sunday’s Kennedy Center Honors gala, the New York Post reported.

“I think he’s outstanding,” Grammer said of the president. “He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had. Maybe the greatest. He still wants to accomplish some things, which I think is great, but there’s a big mountain to climb.”

“We’re left with some really interesting things,” Grammer said.

Grammer, who serves on the Kennedy Center Honors Selection Committee, said in comments posted to fans in an online video that Trump has “done an outstanding job” in his second term.

The actor said he thinks the economy is going well and joked that when Democrats talk about affordability, “you always know they’re going to charge you twice as much and spend three times as much.”

People online were quick to fire back at Grammer.

“This is Trump Derangement Syndrome,” one person wrote on X.

Another wrote: “Repeat a lie often enough and people start to believe it!”

But others supported Grammer.

“I stand by this,” one person wrote on X. “God bless Kelsey Grammer.”

“He’s right,” said another.

Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, Michael Crawford and members of KISS are this year’s Kennedy Center honorees.

During a ceremony in the Oval Office, Trump called the winners “incredible people” who represent “the best in American arts and culture.”

“I know most of them and I’ve been a fan of all of them,” Trump said, according to the Associated Press.
