The Atlanta Falcons have fired defensive line coach LaTroy Lewis, the team announced Friday. An initial report from Dakota State News said Lewis was accused of rape while a student at the University of Michigan and was subsequently fired.

According to reports, the Ann Arbor Police Department confirmed to ESPN that it is investigating sexual assault allegations against Lewis.
The Falcons said they are aware of the allegations and are gathering information before letting Lewis go on Friday. The team recently hired Lewis to work under new head coach Kevin Stefanski’s staff.
Lewis will serve as the defensive line coach at the University of Toledo through the 2025 season after serving with the Wolverines.
