Former New York Giants running backs coach Ruddell Betts is transferring to Miami.
Betts spends the 2025 season with the Giants, his first with the team. The former Washington Commander running back helped the Giants rank fifth in the NFL with 2,195 yards rushing.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Betts will take over the running game for the Dolphins.
After a season of significant improvement for New York, Betts will look to lead the NFL’s fifth-leading rusher, De’Von Achane, who will have 1,350 yards in 2025.
The Dolphins didn’t rush for more than 288 yards again this year. Bates has a track record of developing Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Scatterbo as ball-handlers, and they both played well while sharing responsibilities with New York’s Devin Singletary.
Miami will look to the Missouri native to bolster its ground game in 2026.
