Former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, who is running for a Minnesota Senate seat, is not happy with Minnesota’s leaders.
Tafoya recently expressed frustration with remarks this month from Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison at a hearing: “Oversight of Fraud and Misuse of Federal Funds in Minnesota: Part Two.”
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has been investigating Minnesota’s welfare fraud scandal for months.
Tafoya posted on
“Look, I care about Minnesota. I care about taxes. I care about people being blindly robbed by our executive officers and giving that money to criminals. Look, we have to stop that. I’m here, ready to do the job.”
Tafoya announced in January that she would run for Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seat.
The 61-year-old Republican is running to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Tina Smith.
During her broadcasting career, she has worked at CBS Sports, ESPN and most recently NBC.
From 2011 to 2022, Tafoya served as a sideline reporter for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
“I’m not going to sit back and watch anymore,” Tafoya said in January.
