Ex-Chiefs DB will be unavailable for the Week 16 showdown in Tennessee

The Kansas City Chiefs will visit Tennessee this Sunday to face the Titans and the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cam Ward. Ward’s teammate Jarius Snead will not be available for his first game with his former team.

Snead suffered a quadriceps injury in the third quarter of the Titans’ Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots. Last year, it was the same injury that landed him on injured reserve in Week 5, causing him to miss the rest of the season. He underwent surgery to address a quadriceps injury, but it again cut short his second season at Tennessee.

“We certainly miss LJ (L’Jarius Sneed), but somebody has to step up and accept that,” Steve Spagnuolo said before the 2024 season. “(I’m) waiting for somebody to step up and prove themselves and say I’m the guy that can do this.”

Tennessee acquired Snead from Kansas City last year in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a swap of a 2024 seventh-round pick. Immediately following the trade, he signed a four-year, $76 million contract with the Titans.
