Evaluating the good and bad from Jaguars’ picks in 2026 NFL mock draft

Let’s break down the Jacksonville Jaguars’ four picks in the latest 2026 NFL mock draft from Pro Football Focus’ Gordon McGuinness.

Although the Jaguars don’t have a first-round pick, they do have four picks in the top 100, which presents general manager James Gladstone with the opportunity to add some immediate impact to the roster or potentially make a trade, which he has been more than willing to do.

The Jaguars’ first pick in this year’s draft will be No. 56.

Pick 56: Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern

In 2025, Tiernan allowed just three sacks and 13 pressures in 430 pass-blocking snaps. However, will the Jaguars address their offensive line issues early in the draft?

It’s always a good idea to build depth beforehand, but it’s not a pressing need either. Cole Van Lanen just re-signed, Anton Harrison has a fifth-year option for the 2027 season and could be an extension candidate, and Walker Little and Chuma Edoga are still under contract through 2026.

Pick 81: Darrell Jackson Jr., IDL, Florida State

Jackson, listed at 6-foot-5, 337 pounds, was one of PFF’s higher-graded interior defensive linemen last season. As a pass rusher, he generated 14 pressures.

Addressing the defensive tackle position should be a priority. Although the Jaguars are the best defensive team in the NFL, the team struggled to generate sustained pressure on the quarterback in the final seconds last season.

Pick 88: Zakee Wheatley, junior, Penn State

Whitley lined up all over the middle school. He is a good tackler and a solid run defender at the safety position. Defensively, he held opponents to 5.1 yards per catch and had an interception and a pass breakup.

Andrew Wingard is a free agent, but how big of a need do the Jaguars need at safety? Antonio Johnson could slide into the starting job next to Eric Murray, and while Anthony Campanile used three of his spots at safety, the Jaguars used two draft picks at the safety position last April, selecting Caleb Ranso and Lawon Ryan.

How soon the Jaguars address safety in the draft may depend on how confident they are in Ransone and/or Ryan to provide depth at the position.

Pick 100: Jack Endries, TE, Texas

In 2025, Endris caught 33 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. He also performed well as a runner, which is a big factor at tight end in Liam Cohen’s offense.

Tight end could be considered an under-the-radar need. Quintin Morris, who became TE2 after the season, is a free agent, while Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt are both entering the final year of their contracts. All teams want immediate help, but the draft also requires planning ahead.

final thoughts

The board decides who the Jaguars draft, but this is a strong top defensive end group, so addressing this need in the top 100 feels like it should be a priority for the Jaguars to help bolster the depth behind Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen.

In this mock, Jacksonville also doesn’t address the cornerback position, which so far has a big need as Montalik Brown and Greg Newsome are set to hit free agency.

Of course, how free agency unfolds will impact how the Jaguars approach the NFL Draft.
