EMBARK launches free fare pilot program aimed at OKC Streetcar January 5 – July 5

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – On Friday, EMBARK announced the launch of an OKC Streetcar free fare pilot program starting January 5.

The six-month pilot program, which runs from Jan. 5 to July 5, allows Oklahoma City residents and visitors to try the streetcar for free, according to EMBARK officials.

Passengers can board the tram at any tram platform from January 5 to July 5 without a ticket. EMBARK says the six-month pilot program will test whether eliminating fares will significantly increase OKC streetcar usage. At the end of the six-month pilot program, EMBARK officials will evaluate whether to make OKC Streetcar fares permanently free.
