Vanderbilt Catholic 7, SJHS 2 – Scored five runs in the final three innings as VCHS defeated the host Eagles.

The Terriers (16-4) took a 2-0 lead in the first half of the first quarter, but Edwards’ go-ahead 3-pointer late in the third quarter tied the game for the Eagles.

Burley scored on an error to score Edwards, and Mabry’s fastball run tied the game.

In the fourth inning, a runner was struck out and tagged a steal, scuttling the Eagles’ comeback attempt, and in the fifth, a grounder with the runner on base squashed the Eagles’ scoring attempt.

Clawson loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but the next batter’s grounder ended the game.
