Dyson Daniels’ first triple-double
Dyson Daniels has long been known as a defensive specialist and one of the best perimeter and pass blockers in the NBA. Now, he’s proven he’s more than just a defensive mind. Against the Nuggets, Daniels finally had his first career triple-double.
Daniels scored 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting, grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds, and dished out a team-high 10 assists. He also recorded 4 steals, showing his contribution in all aspects of the game. Daniels has had a few chances to cross the triple-double threshold in a few weeks, so it’s even sweeter for the team after trading away one of the league’s best point guards in Trae Young.

Even after acquiring C.J. McCollum and Corey Kispert, the Hawks still seem confident in Dyson Daniels and his all-around abilities, especially as a playmaker. With Daniels setting new season highs in assists and rebounds, he has a chance to form a great duo with rising star Jaren Johnson.
Expect Daniels to see increased usage throughout the remainder of the season as he continues to help the Eagles in many aspects of the game. The Hawks’ next game will be against the Golden State Warriors on January 11.
