WASHINGTON (AP) — Jalen Duren had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Detroit beat the Washington Wizards 117-95 on Thursday night in the Pistons’ first game since All-Star guard Cade Cunningham has been sidelined for at least two weeks with a collapsed left lung.
Duren notched his 37th double-double in just 25 minutes, two nights after scoring a career-high 36 points in Eastern Conference-leading Detroit’s 130-117 victory over Washington.

The Pistons’ Paul Reed scored 17 points, and Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert and Kevin Huerter each scored 14 points.
Detroit outrebounded Washington 55-33 and outscored Washington 66-26 in the paint.
Tristan Vukcevic scored 21 points for the Wizards, who lost their worst game of the season for the 14th consecutive game. The Washington Wizards have the second-worst record in the NBA at 16-53, just two games shy of the franchise-record 16 losses (most recently in March 2024).
The Pistons defeated the Wizards 35-14 in the first quarter and extended their advantage to 25 points early in the second quarter.
Washington cut the deficit to six points multiple times in the second and third quarters, getting back into the game with a 20-2 run that included a seven-point possession.

Jaden Hardy hit a three-pointer, Vukcevic hit a free throw after Paul Reed fouled Hardy during the shot, and Vukcevic hit a three-pointer from the top of the key after Washington was inside.
