British stone. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — Colombia forward John Duran has joined Zenit St. Petersburg on loan from Saudi club Al Nasr until the end of the season.

The Russian club announced the signing on Monday. This is the sixth club of the 22-year-old Duran’s career, which includes playing for Premier League side Aston Villa, where he is known for his goals as a substitute.

His reputation as Villa’s super sub saw him score six goals at the start of the 2024-25 season, despite making just one start, and he signed a new contract until 2030.

But just three months later, Duran joined Al-Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo for a fee of £64 million ($80 million).

Duran scored eight goals in 13 games in the Saudi Professional League last season, but he was sent off in just his fourth game in the Saudi Professional League.

At the beginning of the season, he was loaned to Turkish club Fenerbahce and scored 5 goals in 21 games.

Duran began his career with Envigado in Colombia before joining Chicago Fire in MLS and moving to Villa.
