‘Dream scenario’: Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson on possible Maxx Crosby trade

Detroit Lions All-Pro edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson has been asked about Maxx Crosby trade rumors before. Hutchinson shared his thoughts with Kay Adams on “The Up & Adams Show” in early February.

Over the weekend, Hutchinson gave an exclusive interview to Casino Guru News’ DJ Siddiqi. Hutchinson touched on a number of topics, including his thoughts on the Lions’ idea of pairing him with Crosby in Detroit.

“The idea is very promising,” Hutchinson said. “To play with a beast like that, it sounds like a dream scenario. I answered the same question about Myles Garrett last year, so I don’t know the reality of that situation and how real that is, especially with our general manager — if you listen to him talk about some of the edge rushers, I don’t know. It doesn’t sound like something they’re going after.

“But you never know what they’re doing. And the money and cash situation. I know we have a lot of young, up-and-coming talent on this team that they’re going to pay in the offseason. I’m glad I’m not involved in that because all of those things are a little bit out of my league. I just want to play ball.”

Hutchinson and Crosby were fans of each other and stayed in touch throughout their respective careers.

“We send private messages every now and then,” Hutchinson said. “I’ve seen him a few times here and there. We’re definitely similar types of players and the way we play. That’s why it’s going to be fun to play on the same D-line with him. Because we both played 60 minutes. You feel us. That’s what I respect the most about him, even with the Raiders, a team that’s struggled over the years since he joined, he’s always moving forward, he’s humming, he’s very motivated by those guys. Guys.”

Hutchinson is coming off a great 2025 season with the Lions. The 6-foot-7, 268-pound pass rusher started all 17 games and finished with 54 tackles (36 solo, 18 assists), career highs in sacks (14.5) and forced fumbles (4), and one interception.

Hutchinson leads the NFL with 100 pressures and made Pro Football Focus history as the only player to eclipse 100 pressures in multiple seasons since PFF began tracking player performance in 2006.

Crosby, meanwhile, is coming off a 10-sack season, the fourth of his seven-year career. Crosby totaled 28 tackles, six passes defended and one interception last season.

The five-time Pro Bowler recorded 439 tackles (278 solo), 164 quarterback hits, 133 tackles for loss, 69.5 sacks, 29 passes defended, 11 forced fumbles, and one interception in 110 games and 104 starts.
