Karim Adeyemi sparked controversy when he was furious at being substituted by coach Niko Kovac during Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
The Germany international tried to run straight into the tunnel but was stopped by sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who sent him back to the bench.

Kehl later confirmed that Adeyemi would face a fine for his actions, and Bild now reports that Dortmund sporting director will meet with sporting managing director Lars Riken and chief executive Carsten Kramer in the near future to discuss the incident and the fine.
This is not the first time Adeyemi has made headlines for the wrong reasons. Just a month ago, he was issued a criminal order and fined €450,000 for illegal possession of weapons.
The incident occurred as Dortmund were negotiating a contract extension with Adeyemi beyond 2027, but his recent controversy has certainly not strengthened his negotiating position.
Bild even suggested that the club may now need to consider whether a summer sale is in the best interests of all parties.
