After Donald Trump’s latest boast, critics actually agree with him, just not in the way the president wanted.
Speaking to reporters after Monday’s awards event, Trump touted his controversial tariff policy, insisting it had been an unqualified success despite widespread skepticism from economists and no apparent abatement of the affordability crisis.

Trump claimed that the tariffs brought “tremendous national security and tremendous wealth” to the United States.
“What’s happened over the past 10 months is unprecedented,” he said, referring to his return to the White House.
On a day when Trump drew bipartisan outrage for his hateful rhetoric following the death of actor and director Rob Reiner, many online did agree with his assessment that “what happened in the last 10 months was different than the last 10 months,” but not for the reasons he intended:
