EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Arseni Grichuk and Cody Glass each had a goal and an assist and the New Jersey Devils defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 on Tuesday night.
The Devils improved to 17-0-0 when leading after two periods and have won four of their past five games, including Monday’s 2-1 overtime victory over the host Calgary Flames.

Matthew Savoie scored for the Oilers, whose two-game winning streak was snapped – and for the ninth time this season they failed to extend their winning streak to three games.
Jake Allen survived a third-period onslaught and made 21 saves for New Jersey, while Tristan Jarry had 15 saves in the Oilers’ home debut.
In the game against the Winnipeg Jets on January 10, guard Dougie Hamilton was in good form. He received an assist in this game and extended his scoring streak to six games, during which he scored 7 points.
Oilers player Curtis Lazar played in his 600th career NHL game against his former team, where he will spend parts of three seasons from 2022-25. He has played for 7 NHL teams, scoring 50 goals and 80 assists.

After Edmonton tied the game at 1-1, the Devils regained the lead a minute and a half later when they capitalized on a poor Oilers substitution when Glass cleanly beat Jarry for his 11th goal of the season.
Connor McDavid has scored at least one point in all 17 career games against the Devils (seven goals, 24 assists), the second-longest active scoring streak by a player against a single opponent. However, he was meaningless that night and the streak ended.
