The former criminology graduate student is serving four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for the 2022 murder of a University of Idaho student Kelly Gonsalvestwenty one, Madison Morgantwenty one, Knodel20 and Ethan Chapin20 – Idaho officials are reportedly scrambling to find another facility willing to take hime daily mail.

“They’re working hard to make that happen. So it wouldn’t be surprising if within 30 days Koberg is moved somewhere else or a decision has been made as to whether or not to move him out of there,” McDonald added.
McDonough, who now works for the Cold Case Foundation, said Idaho officials are “actively” working on the transfer process to another state. “So they’re thinking, ‘What are we going to do with this guy?'” he said.
Koberg, 31, was known for frequently complaining about his living conditions, according to MacDonald. He was even picky about the food served in prison, right down to the type of bananas.
The murder in Moscow, Idaho occurred on November 13, 2022. Koberg changed his plea last July as part of a deal with prosecutors to avoid the death penalty.
