The Daytona 500 is NASCAR’s most prestigious event, and the winner will be compensated accordingly. It has long been the highest-grossing motorsports event in the United States, and now it’s reaching record-breaking levels.
Whoever wins the Cup Series will receive $31,045,575, surpassing William Byron’s 2025 purse of $30,331,250 as the largest purse in U.S. history. The Xfinity Series winner will take home $3,782,120, up from $3,762,952 a year ago. As for the Truck Series champion, they will receive $1,276,300 in prize money, an increase of $13,400 from 2025.

Following last week’s no-points cook-off, the Daytona 500 Cup Series officially kicks off. Byron is aiming to win at Daytona for the third straight year, something no Cup driver has done before.
Byron’s quest begins when the Daytona 500 starts Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
