Davis earned third career double-double for Kansas women in 56-35 win over UCF

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Jaliya Davis had a double-double and No. 11 seed Kansas beat No. 14 seed UCF 56-35 on Wednesday night in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.

Davis scored 10 points on 5-for-11 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds for her third career double-double for the Jayhawks (19-12). They continue Thursday against sixth-seeded Colorado.

The Jayhawks went on a 15-0 run in the first and second quarters to take a 24-10 lead, with Davis hitting two layups and Brittany Harshaw and Saniyah Copeland hitting back-to-back 3-pointers.

The Cavaliers (11-19) were led by Jacorriah Bracey with 10 points. UCF went scoreless in the final 5 minutes and 50 seconds and shot 25% (14-for-57), including 11% (2-for-19) from 3-point range.
